Bridging EA and Solution Design
Enterprise Solution Architecture (ESA) is the foundation on which enterprise AI architecture is built.
Agile enterprise solution architecture (agile ESA or A-ESA) is an IT service-based architecture that links enterprise architecture and solution design and bridges the gap between business and IT.
The blend of top-down capabilities and bottom-up service components in an agile modeling approach makes enterprise solution architecture practical and verifiable.
In many enterprise settings, the complex solutions you own, govern, or host require far more than AI agents or a cross-cutting cognitive layer. Even an AI solution ecosystem depends heavily on its underlying solution architecture unless it’s fully autonomous. Without an agile yet clear ESA model, it is difficult, if not impossible, for human architects to understand and govern complex, integrated solutions, whether they are AI-generated or AI-assisted.
“AI assists solution architecture, while the architect oversees it.” – Quotation from the book: Agile Enterprise Solution Architecture
ESA has a set of model specifications, which are not covered on this site. Here are the links to the ESA-related specifications and approaches.
